In 2014, Jane passed Indonesia’s Foreign Legal Consultant Bar and joined an international law firm in Jakarta, representing clients from the U.S., Australia, Canada, Europe, and Singapore. She later won an arbitration case for an oil company before an international tribunal in Singapore.
Jane worked as a Senior Associate and Case Manager in a family law firm with offices across Thailand, handling complex international cases involving child custody, inheritance disputes, and cross-border divorces. Through these matters, she witnessed the challenges faced by migrant families and the impact of immigration laws, which strengthened her commitment to expand her legal expertise and help reunite families across borders.
Being her toddler’s sole caretaker and unemployed homemaker did not deter Jane from pursuing her plan to become a lawyer in the U.S. She enrolled on a scholarship grant in the University of Dayton’s LL.M. in American and Transnational Law (Online) Program. She graduated with flying colors, and her university featured her as one of the spokespersons, see video below.
Jane successfully passed the Alabama Uniform Bar Exam (UBE) with high scores that could qualify her to practice in any other UBE state in the U.S. For her incredible bar exam performance, the Celebration Bar Review Center featured her story in the video below.
